Both are 750 W, 28 mph folding e-bikes on 20 x 3 inch tires with hydraulic brakes. The XP4 750 carries 38% more battery for $200 less; the Fold 1 Plus carries 120 lb more payload and twice the battery warranty.
PeakLoadout finding
At listed prices on 20 October 2026, the Lectric XP4 750 delivers 840 Wh of battery for $1,299 ($1.55 per watt-hour) and the Velotric Fold 1 Plus 608 Wh for $1,499 ($2.47); the Velotric's case is payload (450 lb against 330) and a two-year battery warranty against one.

The weights are not measured the same way: Lectric quotes the bike with the battery removed, Velotric without fenders, kickstand and pedals. Add Lectric's 9 lb battery and the XP4 750 is 71 lb ready to ride, a figure Lectric's own comparison table also uses.
The XP4 750, because it carries more energy: 840 Wh against 608 Wh is 38% more battery. Claimed ranges are a weaker guide, because each maker assumes different conditions. Velotric's 68 miles assumes a 187-lb rider at the lowest assist level on flat roads, which is why its claim works out to fewer watt-hours per mile than Lectric's.
For a like-for-like estimate, divide the battery by the energy you will actually use. At 20 watt-hours per mile, a moderate assist level for a commuter on mixed terrain, the XP4 750 covers about 42 miles and the Fold 1 Plus about 30. Our commuter e-bike guide runs the same arithmetic on a wider field and adds the cost per mile.
The Lectric, by a margin that matters in a hatchback. Drawn to the same scale below, the XP4 folds to 37 x 17 inches of floor and 29 inches tall; the Fold 1 Plus to 37.8 x 19.7 inches and 33.5 inches tall, mostly because of its taller front end and suspension fork.
Velotric's, on both counts. Velotric's warranty covers electrical components and the battery for two years and other components for one; Lectric's is one year across the frame, electrics and battery. On returns, Velotric accepts them within 14 days of delivery with a $200 restocking fee; Lectric's refund policy says all sales are final and treats returns as discretionary, unridden and within 14 days, with up to $300 in restocking fees.
A warranty is only worth what the company behind it can honour. Rad Power Bikes' bankruptcy left owners of bikes bought before 15 December 2025 to file a bankruptcy claim instead of a warranty claim; our Rad Power warranty explainer sets out the dates. Both companies here are trading: Velotric closed a 200 million yuan Series C on 16 October 2026 led by China Life Private Equity (36Kr), and Lectric's founders bought the Juiced Bikes brand in March 2025 (Electrek).
Buy the Lectric for the battery and the fold; buy the Velotric for the payload and the warranty.
Lectric publishes a Lectric vs Velotric comparison, dated June 2025. It sets the XP4 750 against the Fold 1, Velotric's older cadence-sensor folder, now down to one colour at $1,299. The Fold 1 Plus, which adds a torque sensor, a suspension fork, 75 Nm and a 68-mile claim, is the like-for-like rival in 2026 and is the bike this page compares. Lectric's table is accurate on the Fold 1 (55 miles, 440 lb payload); it simply compares against last year's bike.

The full field of twelve bikes, with price per watt-hour and safety certification for each, is in our commuter e-bike guide.
Every spec and price was read on lectricebikes.com and velotricbike.com product, warranty and policy pages on 20 October 2026, with Velotric prices cross-checked against its store's product data. Price per watt-hour is listed price divided by battery Wh. Watt-hours per claimed mile is battery Wh divided by the maker's claimed range. The 20 Wh-per-mile estimate is an illustrative moderate-assist figure, stated as such, not a measured result for either bike.

It depends on what you need. The Lectric XP4 750 has more battery (840 Wh against 608), more torque (85 Nm against 75) and a smaller fold for $1,299 against $1,499. The Velotric Fold 1 Plus has a higher payload (450 lb against 330), a suspension fork and a two-year battery and electrical warranty against Lectric's one year.
On 20 October 2026 Lectric listed the XP4 500 at $999 (regular $1,146) and the XP4 750 at $1,299 (regular $1,732), both as sale prices. The XP4 750 was on preorder, shipping the week of 26 October.
Velotric claims up to 68 miles on pedal assist and 45 miles on throttle from its 608 Wh battery, for a 187-lb rider at the lowest assist level on flat roads. At a moderate 20 Wh per mile, the same battery gives about 30 miles.
Velotric. It covers the battery and electrical components for two years and other components for one. Lectric's warranty is one year covering the frame, electrical parts and battery.
The XP4 folds to 37 x 17 x 29 inches and the Fold 1 Plus to 37.8 x 19.7 x 33.5 inches. Height is usually the limit: the Velotric is 4.5 inches taller folded.
The Lectric XP4 750 is the better value on battery, torque and folded size, at $200 less on its current sale. The Velotric Fold 1 Plus is the better-built choice for heavier riders and longer ownership, with a 450 lb payload, a suspension fork and twice the battery warranty. Decide on payload and warranty first; the spec gap elsewhere is smaller than it looks.
